WE HAVE CHANGED BLOG SERVERS...PLEASE CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING

May 13, 2009

Our first email hit the internet at 10:58 pm....well mine hit then...JJ had a minor technical glitch so his went out at 11:00 pm.  But it's out there.  It's a bit surreal.  It's just swirling around the email world waiting to hit and to be read and we have no idea what to expect in return.  It's scary and thrilling all at once.  Of course we are getting alot of bounce backs which I guess means it's time to do an email house cleaning.  But that just takes time and seems like something you do whne you have either run out of everything else you could possibly be doing or you are avoiding completing the list that looms over you.  Great proscatination technique....might come in handy this weekend as I am supposed to be writing that paper.....

Alright it's time for a glass of champagne to celebrate and then sleep --- days of building websites, email lists, writing letters...can take a lot out of a girl, you know?

Sleep tight and play in the new site -- more pictures and fun things soon, well eventually.

Becky

Oh here's the letter.....

Dear Friends & Family,
There’s a new company in town and we need your help (yes, even if you don’t live in Washington, DC).  Our goal is to help make the arts more accessible to everyone.  The Arts are extremely important in keeping imagination and growth alive and yet they are often the first things to be cut in personal and organizational budgets.
In the future, we hope to bring a variety of arts, but our first project is a 90-minute touring production of The Winter’s Tale.  In the Fall of 2009, we hope to tour this show to at least 20 venues in the Washington, DC Metro Area.  Our target audiences are those who live in homeless shelters, halfway houses, hospitals and other places where there is generally little or no access to the arts.
Please visit our new website www.wanderingsouls.org and don’t forget to add your name to the mailing list if you want to keep abreast of our progress.  On the site we have made a list of areas where we could use a hand; just click on Get Involved on the left-hand menu. For your convenience, here’s a quick breakdown of the kind of help we are looking for:
Donations
Behind the Scenes Work
Board Members
Grant Writers
Non-Profit Lawyer
Performance
Performers
Designers
Directors
Musicians
Wandering Souls has been a dream of ours that’s been brewing for a while now.  As artists in the Washington, DC Theatre Community we wanted a way to reach and learn from a different audience, and we can use all the hands we can get, big or small.  And don’t think that a $10 donation won’t go far.  Also, please look out for a “Save the Date” e-mail about our first Fundraiser.
Please send any responses to this email:  info@wanderingsouls.org
      All the Best!
      Becky & JJ
PS—If you don’t wish to be included in further e-mails, just let us know and we will take you off our mailing list.
