What's in the works:
There are many aspects that we hope to incorporate into the future of this company but as with anything the
first step is a conversation as to how it gets done. If you would like to take part in the conversations happening this
year about any of these topics let us know. (Info@wanderingsouls.org) We'd love to have you as part of the conversation.
* Collaboration
Although we enjoy creating our own works we recognize
the fact that we are in a city surrounded by amazing artists. We want to figure out how we can work with other
companies and individual artists in the area on other projects. Whether that be bringing a"stripped down, road version"
of already developed productions and shows to the communities we are invited to visit. Or maybe we can
help give in-development shows that next step. Or work together to produce a show which tours but also has a full run
at a singular theatre. In April of 2010 we want to have a roundtable discussion with artists/companies who
are interested in the possibilities this presents. If this is you, please email becky@wanderingsouls.org with your name, email and interest.
* How to submit production ideas and scripts
One of our goals is to give artists the chance and place to explore their ideas. Whether it's
creating in a style they are already accustomed to (say, a director directing) or trying their hand at something new
(say, a dancer creating a puppet show) we hope to provide a forum in which to do that. If you are interested in being
a part of the groundwork here, email jj@wanderingsouls.org.
* Expanding outside of theatre
On the performance front - We very much
want to expand outside of theatre and we need to figure out what that entails and how to do it. We will be discussing
many possibilities: dance, music, visual art, etc
On the other fronts we are very much interested in exploring
and expanding beyond just performing and into the world of teaching, creating and mentoring within the communities we are
invited into. We have so much to learn from each other and we need to navigate the first steps.
