Coming Up Fall 2010

William Shakespeare's
Twelfth Night

One of Shakespeare’s greatest comedies, Twelfth Night ponders love lost and found. A shipwreck separates twins Viola and Sebastian, but tragedy quickly turns to comedy when they wash up in a land turned upside-down by love. With raucous antics, ravishing language and rich characters, Shakespeare creates a bittersweet tale of laughter and longing.

How we are looking to tackle this show:

Starting with ensemble building and play exploration in the summer we plan to pull this play apart bit by bit and then carefully find exciting ways to put it back together.  What we hope will arise out of this play time will be an hour long version that will let the gems of this classic shine through and the comedy bubble to the surface...while the music of love pulls at your heartstrings.   All this and live music too.

Tentative Schedule:

* June and July - 6 rehearsals each month which will revolve around ensemble building, script development and community engagement learning

* Last rehearsals in July - Cast will "rehearse" and perform a Renaissance run of the show with the cut script

* August - 1st 3 weeks - Rehearsal;  Last week - dress and start of run
